Dr. Lina Leon is a molecular biologist working at the intersection of genetic engineering technologies and immunotherapy. She earned her PhD from UCSF where she investigated the evolution of CRISPR-Cas systems and developed new genome editing tools to probe bacterial cells. Now working in industry, Dr. Leon has shifted gears to immunotherapy, designing genetic logic gates for smarter CAR-T therapies at Arsenal Bio and more recently probing parasite genomes to uncover novel immune-modulating proteins to treat autoimmune diseases at Ditto Bio. Through her work, Dr. Leon hopes to create curative therapies while continuing to explore the molecular world.
